Dear Fusion Dallas Family,

I want to thank y’all so much for helping me grow as both a student and a person. Y’all have reignited my passion for learning that I had lost due to the fact that I was drowning in school work. Coming to Fusion has reminded me of when I used to love school and I can honestly say I love it once again. Now that I don’t have hours of homework a night, I have the time to be a kid again and have extracurricular activities to fill up my free time. Fusion has made me a happier person and I am so grateful for this school showing me that being different with learning and just in general is okay.
Before I came to Fusion, I was very depressed and school was the main source of my pain. I felt stupid because I couldn’t get good enough grades because I couldn’t do my best with all of the homework at night that would keep me up too late. I was afraid to ask questions in class because I was scared that people would think I was stupid by not understanding right away. School made me feel like I wasn’t smart enough and I dreaded waking up and going to school most days. Fusion Academy isn’t like regular school. It is somewhere where you can feel safe to be who you are and ask questions when you don’t understand because the teachers and students here are ready and willing to help you. This school is a family and I feel like I have made friends for life in my teachers and fellow students.
Now that I am here at fusion, I am a happy person and I actually can see that I am not stupid like I thought; I am actually quite smart. I am proud of who I am and what Fusion has done to make me the better version of myself that I am today. This school has changed my life drastically for the better and I am always going to remember the help my Fusion Dallas family has given me. Thank y’all because I am so much happier because of the love, care, and tools you’ve given me.

Sincerely,
Kate Hornbach
