Robby is an authentic student with a contagious smile. His presence relaxes others and he has a joyful, light demeanor. He can be a little shy, but once you get to know him, you can see that he’s full of potential, inspiring, and unstoppable.

Students like Robby choose Fusion Woodbury for a variety of reasons. For some it’s the constructive relationships that offer positive learning solutions, and others for the environment where they can flourish emotionally, socially, and academically. For Robby, one of his major reasons for enrolling in Fusion was to continually feed his love of snowboarding.

“My mother says I discovered my passion for snowboarding when I was 2,” said Robby. “I trailed behind my brother, falling and all, but when I got older, I knew I wanted to do it forever.”

As a teenager, Robby attends school full-time throughout the summer while the majority of students are on break, saving his own ‘summer break’ for his favorite time of the year – the cold and slippery slopes of December through April.

You can say that Robby has been able to do a lot of what he truly loves. He’s competed in local, regional and national snowboarding competitions through the USASA series. Additionally, he’s been featured in The Launch 2016, a snowboarding magazine. Our school community is proud to foster the growth of teenagers like Robby, preparing them to be confident in who they are and proficient in what they love.

We provide endless opportunities for students to pursue their passions and dreams. We do this through our learning environment and catering to each student’s characteristics and interests. Fusion believes in each and every student, preparing them for their next step, and supporting their pursuits. At Fusion Academy in Woodbury, students like Robby reinforce our dedication to creating a revolutionary way to learn.

Tiffany Belferder has been with Fusion Academy for almost 2 years as Director of Admissions & Outreach beginning at the Brooklyn campus. This year she joined the Long Island Fusion family to be closer to her family and immediately it felt like home!

Tiffany earned her Master’s degree from Long Island University. For 7 years she practiced as a licensed & registered Creative Arts Therapist. She started her career leading an after school program for children with developmental disabilities, working alongside ABA therapists and special educators to create behavior plans to be implemented in home, school, and the program. Tiffany then took on the fast paced world of inpatient adolescent psychiatric hospitals where she loved being able to counsel teenagers going through some of the toughest times in their lives. The experience she had there was challenging, but overwhelmingly rewarding. After years working in hospitals, Tiffany joined Fusion falling in love with Fusion’s unique ability to change lives every single school day. She is humbled to use her dynamic experience & passion to continue fostering the success of Fusion Woodbury as Head of School.
